Color of Love

Narrator: Tabitha of The Pairabirds

Yes, I too am sick of seeing the sea of red and pink everywhere. Every store, every advertisement, pink and red. Yes, I know, it's almost Valentine's Day. But, if you don't like the color pink (I'm not a huge fan of it) and if you don't like red (I love red, but there is such a thing as overkill), this holiday can be nauseating. Nothing like receiving a pink teddy bear holding a red box of chewy chocolate (chocolate that doesn't taste very good by the way).

I wish more emphasis was put on other colors during the holiday of love (Valentine, not faux holiday Sweetest Day). I guess that's like expecting Christmas without green and red. But, other colors will work.

Normal

  • Red symbolizes love, passion, fire, power

  • Pink symbolizes love, warmth, growth

Not Normal Valentine Colors, but should be

  • Black symbolizes mystery, seriousness, power, sex

  • Yellow symbolizes joy, happiness, warmth, sunlight

  • White symbolizes hope, freedom, humility

  • Brown symbolizes calm, earthiness, oneness

  • Purple symbolizes royalty, delicacy, grandeur

Because of the various types of relationships people can have with one another, the two colors of red and pink just don't seem to satisfy all. Valentine's Day should not just focus on the passion part of love, but also the warmth of love, the mystery of love, the gentleness, the delicacy, the pleasure...
