Trees and Things

The trees are lush and pretty this month. Which means nature is sneaking it's way back into my sketches. I'm gathering and reviewing some of my favorite nature/human images.

Yoshitaka Amano

Hashiguchi Goyo

Kitagawa Utamaro

Gustav Klimt

What I like about these pieces is the use of graphic and organic elements. Though the artists use bold shapes, the curves of the figures create soft, sensual feel. That delicate harmony of human and nature, complimenting one another.

The ole Moleskine is holding my new sketches (and a pressed ginkgo leaf for on-hand inspiration).

Trees and things. People and things.
